A little golf - I was golfing the other day and on a Par 3 - I chunked the ball into the water.  Instead of taking a drop I hit another shot.  I hit a great shot, the ball went flying towards the flag, I kept thinking don’t go in, don’t go in, not wanting to waste a second shot on a hole in one that wouldn’t count.   The ball stopped short of the flag and I was happy. I still have never hit a hole in one but one day.

Well, with folks blasting President Biden, here is a comment about former President Trump.

 He (Bob Woodard) describes Trump as “raw, profane, divisive and deceptive. His language is often retaliatory.”  Woodward says, “Trump is an unparalleled danger. The record now shows that Trump has led — and continues to lead — a seditious conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election, which in effect is an effort to destroy democracy.”   From, Woodward releasing new audiobook "The Trump Tapes".  Woodard has shared two Pulitzer Prizes, has been a recipient of nearly every major American journalism award, incluudig the Gerald R. Ford Prize for Reporting on the Presidency (2002). He served in the U.S. Navy from 1965 to 1970.

Enjoy reading the posts. Thank you Dick for posting the article about Trump. I have a group of friends who cannot see that side of the man. My experiences in life can see the con man, abuser, and lies that they refuse to see.

Dick – Biden makes it so easy to blast him. 

Trump has 95% of the press that hates him so I am sure you can find thousands of negative articles about him.  Trump is hated, with a passion by so many people and the press, I hope he doesn’t run. The Republicans have so many good candidates to choose from, I am sure they can find a good replacement.  I also hope the Democrats can field a better bunch than they did last time.

Dick - I enjoy reading your comments and know you are a great guy.  I am sure you are a lot like me, wanting a safe and better life for my Children, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

Biden Administration Approves Pentagon Funding Travel Costs for Abortions

• October 21, 2022

Joe Biden and his Secretary of Defense are being a bit too liberal with taxpayer funds.

On Thursday, Secretary Austin announced a new abortion policy for the military.

The Pentagon will now pick up travel costs for the military who wish to travel out of state for an abortion.

Legal?

Austin stated, “Our Service members and their families are often required to travel or move to meet our staffing, operational, and training requirements.

“Such moves should not limit their access to reproductive health care.”

First, abortion is not health care… health care is caring for health, not killing someone.

Second, using public funds for abortion costs is illegal.

The only exceptions are stipulated in the Hyde Amendment.

Austin is really splitting hairs here by approving travel costs and not actual procedural costs, but expect this to wind up in the courts very soon.

Austin added, “In my judgment, such effects qualify as unusual, extraordinary, hardship, or emergency circumstances for service members and their dependents and will interfere with our ability to recruit, retain, and maintain the readiness of a highly qualified force.”

So, in essence, Austin has decided to circumvent the Constitution of the United States and Congress.

Hello Nova—To your post about the abysmal situation on our southern border. I see open borders as insolvent philosophies hosted by a scant few: A highly-political population existing principally inside the Beltway.  Have any of them actually visited the U.S. -Mexico border?  I don’t know.

Regardless, I think the southern border remains a historically knotted conundrum with no spotless, “ahh, that’s it” resolution.

And why single out democrats for a rejoinder?   Why not just “A question for all”?

P.S. Oh my, iIt seems I’m getting uncharacteristically chatty in my advancing age.
