Well, I have been thinking about Fred for a long time, and meaning to comment on my friend from our HS days. I remember the first day I ever saw Fred. It was at the bus stop at the corner of Langley Place on Walker AFB. His dad had just been transfered to Walker, and their family had moved in right across the street from Terry Hanlens' house. We became instant friends, and shared common interests of rifles, handloading ammo and hunting. Of course Fred was an excellent student, and was always kidding me about my grades, because they certainly needed improvement. By the way the bus stop at that time was for St.Peters school which we were attending prior to 10th grade. Fred, Terry and I were always out hunting rabbits, and we just had alot of fun together. I was not with him when he got shot in the chest, but Terry was, and his quick action probably saved Freds' life. I first found Fred post hs up in Wyoming. Later, Nelson Evans set up some reunions in Colorado and was able to visit with him at those times. Fred and I had only a minor regret, we never got together in our later years to go on a hunt together. I miss my friend, Fred was a good friend, and I hope he rests in peace, pain free and that we may see each other again.
