You probably do not know that your father gave me my first golf lesson at the Walker course.  Not his fault that I was no progeny. I Love the game, but had no ability to followup to pursue it.  Best wishes to those who do play, and I will continue to watch the persons who cannot sink a putt  from 3 feet from my back porch on the 6th green on the Onion Creek Club course.

Hi Bill !     The Walker Air Force Base golf course was located actually outside of the gate !  - when you drove up to the front gate - you turn left on that road and follow it around to the end of the fence - then turn right,  it was in that area !

Bill,

I remember you and I playing golf at the Mini in Roswell (we did fairly often for a while). You eventually became frustrated and played one round with a baseball fungo bat and a pool cue (only). I used my clubs (used is a loose term). I think you beat me. Like bowling.

Dick, I remember that, maybe not the part about me beating you with those 2 "CLUBS" I used. Years ago I took a ball bat at Driving Range where they were having a Long Drive competition, I came in 2nd with my bat, a few hit it longer, but out of bounds but I kept it straight with the bat and when I took my prize, I told them about the bat and pool cue thing and most of them did not believe me, but I took my Miller Lite case of beer and cooler and laughed walking off, the Old Days, probably  would have mooned them
