Is the cat going up or down?

This illusion is one of a cat on the stairs. There are two ways of looking at it and the beauty of this illusion lies in the fact that the cat may appear to be either going up the stairs or down based on your perspective.

You may notice a slight shadow under the overhanging nose of the stair treads. These shadows would only be visible if the cat was going down the stairs towards the viewer who is looking upstairs.

5 Optical Illusions That Will Reveal Your Hidden Personality
5 Optical Illusions That Will Reveal Your Hidden Personality

If you felt that the cat was coming up the stairs, chances are that you have an optimistic view of life. You see potential and you see growth wherever you look.

Your mind has been trained to look at ways of rising higher in life, so given a situation where you have the choice of rising higher than others or falling to their levels, you would inevitably be the better person. There are clear signs of ambition in you and no one, except yourself, can stop you from going higher in life.

Result 2 – If You Saw The Cat Going Down

Five Optical Illusions To Test Your Personality QUIZ

If you observed the cat walking down the stairs, you have a personality that is slightly on the pessimistic side. You are a skeptic, to be honest. It may have been based on your experiences in life or just because of the sort of people you may have met that tilted your view of life towards the negative side.

But this means that you don’t trust easily now, you calculate before you commit and you are wary of people who seem too sweet. It may just be your way of tackling the world but you are much sharper and shrewd in your dealings, making it almost impossible to trick or deceive you.

I see the cat walking down the stairs.  It’s not because I am pessimistic but because the concrete riser and tread shows what way the cat is walking.

Breakthrough science that might interest some of you (especialy Rowland).

New clues about the origin of complex life trace roots to common ancestor.

According to this latest study from the University of Texas, all complex life forms (eukaryotes) trace their roots back to a common ancestor among a group of ancient bacteria called the Asgard archaea. Some are around today.

According to groundbreaking research published in the prestigious journal Nature, we humans— with foxes, robbins, roses, mushrooms and every complex organism on Earth—evolved from Asgardians.

Analyzing the genomes of hundreds of different microbes called archaea, researchers at UT and other institutions have discovered that eukaryotes—complex life forms with a nuclius in their cells, including all  plants, animals  and fungi—trace their roots back to this common Asgard ancestor.

THESE ARE ACTUAL COMPLAINTS RECEIVED BY "THOMAS COOK VACATIONS" FROM DISSATISFIED CUSTOMERS:

1. "They should not allow topless sunbathing on the beach. It was very distracting for my husband who just wanted to relax."

2. "On my holiday to Goa in India, I was disgusted to find that almost every restaurant served curry. I don't like spicy food."

3. "We went on holiday to Spain and had a problem with the taxi drivers as they were all Spanish."

4. "We booked an excursion to a waterpark but no-one told us we had to bring our own swimsuits and towels. We assumed it would be included in the price."

5. "The beach was too sandy. We had to clean everything when we returned to our room."

6. "We found the sand was not like the sand in the brochure. Your brochure shows the sand as white but it was more yellow."

7. "It's lazy of the local shopkeepers in Puerto Vallarta to close in the afternoons. I often needed to buy things during 'siesta' time -- this should be banned."

8. "No-one told us there would be fish in the water. The children were scared."

9. "Although the brochure said that there was a fully equipped kitchen, there was no egg-slicer in the drawers."

10. "I think it should be explained in the brochure that the local convenience store does not sell proper biscuits like custard creams or ginger nuts."

11. "The roads were uneven and bumpy, so we could not read the local guidebook during the bus ride to the resort. Because of this, we were unaware of many things that would have made our holiday more fun."

12. "It took us nine hours to fly home from Jamaica to England. It took the Americans only three hours to get home. This seems unfair."

13. "I compared the size of our one-bedroom suite to our friends' three-bedroom and ours was significantly smaller."

14. "The brochure stated: 'No hairdressers at the resort.' We're trainee hairdressers and we think they knew and made us wait longer for service."

15. "When we were in Spain, there were too many Spanish people there. The receptionist spoke Spanish, the food was Spanish. No one told us that there would be so many foreigners."

16. "We had to line up outside to catch the boat and there was no air-conditioning."

17. "It is your duty as a tour operator to advise us of noisy or unruly guests before we travel."

18. "I was bitten by a mosquito. The brochure did not mention mosquitoes."

19. "My fiancée and I requested twin-beds when we booked, but instead we were placed in a room with a king bed. We now hold you responsible and want to be re-reimbursed for the fact that I became pregnant. This would not have happened if you had put us in the room that we booked."

Road Trips from Roswell
Posted Monday, June 19, 2023 05:03 PM from 99.100.185.0

A Facebook friend's photograph today of the flat approach to Amarillo, Texas brought back childhood memories for me.

During my family's time in New Mexico (1950-1954 in Hobbs, 1954-1960 in Roswell), we would take annual trips to visit relatives in Oklahoma.  My father found driving at night more comfortable because it was cooler and because he could see the lights of cars approaching on dead-straight roads from far away.  We would therefore leave our New Mexico home late in the afternoon and drive to approximately Wichita Falls, where we would stay at a motel. Driving northeastward across the Llano Estacado (the 37,000 sq mi mesa that straddles the border of NM and TX), we would approach Amarillo at night time. The flat top of the Llano Estacado—slightly descending toward Amarillo—made the lights of Amarillo visible for a very long time during our approach.  Its lights seemed to float above the black horizon, spreading horizontally as we got closer.

Dick Storey — Amarillo's Big Texan Steakhouse must have been opening its doors in 1960, when we were making our move to New Orleans.  Had we gone that route, our then-new 1960 Rambler might not have borne the added weight!

That is so sad about Marie. She was always such a positive voice on the website. We will miss her "Keep'em Coming" quips.   I was aware she was not in the best of health but did not know it was dire circumstances. Prayers are with her and her family.
