Need to memorize them, but then my memory is not so good, so what good is memorizing them.

1956:  "ELECTRICITY MAY BE THE DRIVER. One day your car may speed along an electric super-highway, its speed and steering automatically controlled by electronic devices embedded in the road. Travel will be more enjoyable. Highways will be made safe — by electricity! No traffic jams … no collisions ... no driver fatigue."

WE ARE A GENERATION THAT WILL NEVER COME BACK.

A generation that walked to school and then walked back.

A generation that did their homework alone to get out asap to play in the street.

A generation that spent all their free time in the streets with their Friends.

A generation that played hide and seek when dark.

A generation that made mud cakes.

A generation that collected sports cards.

A generation that found, collected and washed & Returned empty coke bottles to the local grocery store for 5 cents each , then bought a Mountain Dew and candy bar with the money.

A generation that made paper toys with their bare hands.

A generation who bought vinyl albums to play on record players.

A generation that collected photos and albums of clippings of their life experiences as a Kid.

A generation that played board games and cards on rainy days.

A generation whose TV went off at midnight after playing the National Anthem.

A generation that had parents who were there.

A generation that laughed under the covers in bed so parents didn't know we were still awake.

A generation that is passing and unfortunately it will never return no matter how hard we try.

I loved Growing up when I did. it was the best of times.

OK, the question is HOW AND WHERE, Will, we get all the junk NEWS?

A massive shift is happening in the American Media. The corporate elite news media has lost the trust of the American people.

New York Times huge layoffs...

BuzzFeed News out of business...

CNN closing divisions and selling off parts...

CBS downsizing...

Vice News out of business...

MSNBC off the rails...

Washington Post is sacking staff...

THE TRUTH WILL BE TOLD SOMEDAY

Some thoughts about our generation:

I do not remember having Mountain Dew.  Pepsi acquired it and started National distribution in 1964.

I recall television starting at 4 pm and ending after the news at 9:30 pm.  When the Tonight show came along the hours were extended to maybe 11:00 pm.  I remember sitting and watching the test pattern waiting for TV to start at 4, not every day though because I was usually outside

I cannot relate to the long hair, girls in pants or the cut offs in the dance picture.  That was much after my time in high school!

Concerning the news:

The concept of 24 hour news has damaged our society!  The elite are using it as a tool to divide and destroy us.  How happy does watching the news channels make you?  Perhaps spending time doing things that you enjoy would be more productive for your mental health and for the happiness of those around you.

Remember when we judged our elected representatives by what they accomplished rather than what they said?

Bruce – I agree with you, that 24-hour news has damaged our society.  It went from news to this is what you should believe.  I really don’t want their opinion. I want news as it is, let me decide how to interpret it.

You must be a great fisherman, what a catch.

BRUCE & NOVA, I WOULD NOT CALL IT NEWS. IT'S A LOT OF CRAP OF FALSE NEWS BY PEOPLE TRYING TO DESTROY OUR COUNTRY.  LET'S NOT FORGET THAT THEY MAKE A LIVING OUT OF IT. THE MORE THEY CAN SELL, THE B.S. THE RICHTER THEY GET.  THEY WILL SHAKE YOUR HAND AN STICK A KNIFE IN YOUR BACK AT THE SAME TIME.

Hello Bill—I think you left Fox “News” off your list of junk news. They are the major prevaricators. Ask their recently terminated star named Carlson about stirring up the far, far-right wingers with lies. (Talk about going for the $$.) Also, please refer to the head proud boy who got 18 years for the insurrection (aka treason). And others in the riot. What got them fired up to raid the Capital and want to hang Mike Pence--a decent guy ?  Fox? Trump?  Not alone but...............

Thanks Nova!  I try to practice my fishing every day from mid June to early September.  I enjoy that.
My catching, on the other hand is just most days and some are definitely better than others.  I think I used to be better at the catching, just having to relearn every season.  Now days, since I have to relearn every day, I think some days that I am not so good.  That is a little older picture
